In 2012 when the University of Maryland Students Helping Honduras group went to Honduras to help build a school it was decided to dedicate the school they were building to Michaella (Kayla) who passed away that year before she was to join them. Michaella’s parents went to Honduras in 2014 to see the school and meet the Students Helping Honduras team. When they arrived at the school they were greeted by the children in the neighborhood who went to the new school and expressed their gratitude to SHH.
